ST. JOHN THE EVANGELIST, WARKLEIGH
St. John the Evangelist is a medieval church, and so rural that it is not an easy place to find – but well worth the challenge! The Church path goes through the middle of a farm and past a cottage, (once the old parish workhouse), adjoining the churchyard, where you will see the most wonderful views.
Before each service the six bells are rung by our team of bell ringers. It is the people that make a Church and ours has a welcoming atmosphere which buzzes with conversation both before and after our fortnightly services. Our small congregation loves to receive and welcome visitors. Special occasions, such as the annual Plough Sunday Service, where an ancient plough is carried, and the Songs of Praise service (also known for the refreshments) attract people from far and wide, filling the Church. |
